This South Coast home will take your breath away! - Ben Smyth
'Urimbirra' is a spectacular estate in Tilba Tilba on the NSW Far South Coast.
A stunning estate that became a beloved sanctuary for its owners is about to go to auction.
After his long and successful career in theatre, 'Urimbirra' became a place of wholeness, connection and calm for the late Martin McCallum and his partner Gwynne Jones.
Situated at the base of ancient Gulaga mountain, shadowed by magnificent tall trees and the ocean close by, 'Urimbirra' has been a source of peace, fulfilment and contemplation for everyone who has set foot on its spectacular grounds.
Mr McCallum's love of nature and gardening was said to have been completely fulfilled here, a perfect antidote to his huge life and global career.
The six-bedroom home is surrounded by tiered gardens and manicured lawns.
Mr McCallum was a British theatrical producer and president of the Society of London Theatre.
Described as "a key figure in the British musical theatre boom of the 1980s", he worked on more than 500 shows, many as an independent producer, on Broadway and in the West End.
Spending his final years in Tilba Tilba, meaningful connections were formed with people and country, and he found a renewed meaning and purpose living on this magnificent estate.
'Urimbirra' is going to auction on August 5.
Both Martin and Gwynne loved the peace and quiet of Tilba Tilba, and the energy of 'Urimbirra' was very special and palpable.
With long walks on pristine secluded beaches, and towns nearby for occasional outings, they enjoyed wonderful friendships and community gatherings here.
David Nolan of Webster Nolan Real Estate, in conjunction with John Murray from Whale Coast Realty, were proud to have been appointed to auction 'Urimbirra' in order to finalise Mr McCallum's estate.

The property includes a magnificent and commanding residence in a stunning location close to pristine beaches.
There is abundant water and open grazing paddocks spread across more than 34 hectares in the foothills of Gulaga.
The picturesque tree-lined driveway leads to a two-storey, six-bedroom residence set in botanic-like gardens and a resort-style swimming pool.
Spacious rooms abound in this magnificent home.
Mr Nolan said 'Urimbirra' "makes a statement from the time you arrive".
Construction was completed in 1993 and the result is "breathtakingly special".
All six bedrooms have their own ensuite, there are multiple spacious living areas and a chef-inspired kitchen.

Outside, tiered garden beds and sweeping lawns surround the home, with several idyllic entertaining areas.
The estate also includes a machinery shed, art studio, stables and an orchard.
"'Urimbirra' is an exceptional property which will suit the most discerning purchaser," Mr Nolan said.
"You have to inspect it to appreciate the quality of what this stunning property has to offer."
Mr McCallum died in January 2024 and the property was only being sold to finalise the family estate.
'Urimbirra' is to be sold via auction on August 5, in the auctionWORKS Rooms, 50 Margaret St, Sydney. Starting at 10.30am.
